
About Abuta Ogeto
Abuta Ogeto is a strategist and expert in statistics, data science, and design thinking, with over a decade of impactful work across public health, advisory, training, agriculture, and media. He has previously worked with Kenya’s Ministry of Health in addressing the critical public health challenges of HIV, teenage pregnancies, and gender-based violence with last-mile solutions for underserved communities. During his stint at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) he advanced sustainable agriculture in rural Kenya by developing climate-resilient farming systems and optimizing supply chains for smallholder farmers.
In public health, Abuta expanded TB and HIV response programs with Results Japan Kenya, establishing therapy clinics in Nairobi’s informal settlements to bring essential care to those most in need. He has also been engaged by the governments of Namibia, Tanzania and Lesotho to undertake strategic works towards the betterment of their national strategic health programmes. As a features writer at the Daily Nation and The Standard, he blended data with complex social issues into consumable compelling narratives on Education, Health, Lifestyle and Business.
